HELLO I’M PARVIN,
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with a masters degree in marriage and family therapy. I have a down to earth, warm, and compassionate style in sessions and enjoy working with young adults, adults, and couples, particularly from BIPOC communities.
I’m passionate about helping my clients enact the changes they want in their lives such as engaging with thoughts and behaviors in more helpful ways, processing and overcoming trauma, building more connected and healthier relationships and boundaries, and learning coping skills to manage stress, anxiety and depression. I love the work I do and consider it a great privilege to be part of someone’s healing and growth, where they are free to be wholly human. I’m passionate about providing holistic, trauma informed, culturally competent, and socially conscious mental health care.
I recognize that seeking therapy can have stigmas attached to it among some marginalized and minority communities that might feel their values, experiences, or backgrounds are misunderstood. It is a commitment of mine to break through these stigmas and barriers coming from these communities myself as a Muslim and child of immigrants. Moreover, I provide therapy within a social justice framework and believe that the personal is political, and therefore, believe that therapy can not be inherently apolitical.
