HELLO I’M EMERALD,

As a therapist, I believe empowering the client by providing a safe, warm, collaborative, and culturally aware environment is essential for the healing process. I am passionate about utilizing each session to provide support and assist clients as they learn more about themselves, while also including activities, psychoeducation, art, and more to empower the client. It’s essential to find a balance between identifying ways to challenge yourself, while also going at your own pace, so I hope therapy can help guide that process!

My experience has included working with individuals who struggle with trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, self/body image, interpersonal (family, platonic, romantic) relationships, work-life balance, racial trauma, racial identity, boundaries, and assertive communication. I have worked with individuals from children, teens, adults, to older adults in both therapy settings and hospital settings.

I primarily incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques with a psychodynamic approach that allow me to better understand how a person’s upbringing, relationships, family, and more have impacted how they currently see the world. I also utilize Trauma-informed CBT, along with seeking safety interventions as a way to help clients process traumatic situations they have experienced, while encouraging them as they develop more coping skills to help with emotional regulation and processing trauma.
