HELLO I’M BENJAMIN,

My name is Benjamin Maxson and I am an associate marriage and family therapist with diverse experience, approaching full licensure. I highly value authenticity, positivity and kindness. I want to build a therapeutic relationship with you that is unique, depending on who you are, your personality, your humor and your needs. I don’t believe every approach is right for every person and I will take an approach that fits you with plenty of feedback to make sure you feel seen, understood and supported.

I have a very positive and optimistic outlook on life and the various hurdles that come with it and I want to work alongside you to process, find healing and restoration. I will also assist you to be equipped with practical tools, communication and new outlooks to help you reach your goals in life and in relationship.

I specialize in self-image, identity, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, conflict resolution, addiction, couples therapy, trauma informed therapies, anxiety management, depression, communication coaching, faith integration and spiritual problems/spiritual or moral injury. I am EMDR trained and have experience working with single or complex trauma and it’s impact on worldview, emotion regulation, self-confidence and relationships.

I am eclectic in the modalities that I use depending on what approach will be most beneficial. Some of the approaches that I use include: CBT, DBT, EMDR, Gottman’s Couples Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Attachment, Solutions-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Experiential, Communication Coaching, Role modeling, Role Playing and Intergenerational Family therapy.
