HELLO I’M AGATHA,

My name is Agatha Wise. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. It is my intention to work collaboratively with adolescents, adults, couples and families to overcome challenges that have impacted their daily functioning and to find strength, healing and growth to live life to the fullest. I enjoy working collaboratively as a team with clients to achieve their therapy goals while supporting long-term healthy growth and change.

My background is working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. I have also worked with older adults with mental health and the challenges they face. I have a long history of working in community mental health, serving families, and adults who are affected by chronic mental illness, substance abuse issues, and those experiencing domestic violence. I also have worked with individuals that have been involved in the criminal justice system. I want to help clients experiencing crisis situations, grief, and trauma due to working with individuals with severe mental illness.

I use a blend of different approaches to therapy, including Narrative therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Seeking Safety and Family Systems Therapy. I have completed the training for the level 1 Gottman method. My goal is to help individuals recognize their strengths so they can have the tools to overcome their daily stressors. I enjoy mindfulness activities, spending time with my family, including my dog, running and training for marathons as part of my self-care.
