Population Focus
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) whose passion for therapy stems from my own personal experience of being first generation Mexican American, navigating complex systems, and the ongoing realization that we are all trying to be really good at being alive. As a result, I’ve worked with individuals and families—in both English and Spanish—from diverse backgrounds in schools, in the community, and within juvenile facilities among other settings.
While my interventions are framed by compassion and humility and are informed by a client-centered philosophy that recognizes the dignity and worth of all, I tailor treatment to the individual. Additionally, a trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive lens guides my work. I strive to empower my clients to live authentically and assist in facilitating enduring positive change. I have developed a unique intervention style that strategically incorporates the power of therapeutic humor, helping clients build on their strengths and uncover what coping skills are relevant to them.
